About
We didn't start with a business plan. We started with a problem.
OVERHAIL wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born in a bathroom mirror.
We were the customers first — standing there, looking at thinning hair, at scalps that itched and flaked, at bottles we'd bought on a promise and abandoned three weeks later. We tried everything. Imported brands that cost a fortune and did nothing. Local ones that smelled like a promise and delivered a headache. Home remedies passed down with more confidence than evidence.
And somewhere in that cycle, it stopped feeling like our problem. We started noticing it everywhere — in friends, in family, in men and women who had quietly accepted hair loss and scalp damage as something you just live with. Something you cover up, joke about, or stop mentioning.
That's the pain point OVERHAIL was built on. Not a market gap. A real, shared, exhausting one.
We could have launched in six weeks. Private label, pretty packaging, a few paid posts, done. That's the shortcut, and it's available to anyone with a budget.
We took the long way instead.
We spent six to eight months in product development alone — formulating, testing, rejecting, and reformulating. Ingredients that looked great on paper got cut because they didn't perform in real use. Textures got reworked because they felt wrong in the hand. Concentrations got adjusted, then adjusted again. We tested on ourselves before anyone else, because we weren't willing to sell something we wouldn't put on our own scalp.
Plenty of formulas didn't make it. The ones that did earned their place.
